Big Bend National Park takes its name from the bend in the Rio Grande river that runs along the southern edge of the park and serves as the international border between the U.S. and Mexico. It includes the largest protected area of Chihuahuan Desert in the U.S. and is one of our most remote and least visited parks in the lower 48. Those who make the journey can enjoy camping, hiking, birdwatching, and river tours.
