Congaree National Park contains the largest portion of old-growth floodplain forest left in North America. Its trees, among the tallest in the Eastern United States, form one of the highest natural canopies remaining in the world. Visitors to the park can enjoy camping, hiking, canoeing, and kayaking. One popular attraction is the Boardwalk Loop, a 2.4 mi. elevated walkway that allows visitors to experience the swamps up close.
