The Loan Application Process

The online loan application process generally follows the steps below, and takes approximately 10-15 minutes.

  1. Customer Authorization. This first step will require you to confirm that you are an authorized customer, by determining your military status, your location, and the loan product you would like to apply for.

  2. Personal Information. Here we’ll collect some basic personal information such as your military address, phone number, Social Security Number, your housing expenses, your housing allowance, more information about your employment including your salary or pay grade, number of years of service, and your ETS or end date of employment.

  3. Add Co-Applicants. If you are applying with a co-applicant (who must also be an authorized Community Bank customer), their personal information including date of birth, address, and Social Security Number will be needed. Any income (such as their base pay) that should be considered in the application, will also be needed. If employed, necessary information will be name of current employer, present position, length of time with employer and end of employment date.

  4. Identity Verification. In order to keep your application secure, your identity will be verified by asking questions only you will know based on information pulled from your credit report. Typical questions may include past mortgage companies or mortgage amounts, credit cards, or previous addresses.

  5. Loan Information. Based on the type of loan you select, we’ll need the details of your request, including the amount, the number of payments, and if you would like to set up an automatic deduction of your loan payments from a Community Bank checking or savings account. You’ll also need to select the Community Bank location at which you would like to close on your loan. If applying for a Debt Consolidation Loan, you’ll need to know the name of the creditor, the account number, monthly payment amount and balance of each of the debts you would like to consolidate.

  6. Submit Application and Print Pre-Approval. At the end of the application, if we are able to extend a loan to you, you will receive a pre-approval confirmation of the loan requested, the amount, the term, and the exact interest rate we are able to offer.
