Black History
Every family has a wall of heroes. Ours is just a little bigger than most.
As part of Black History Month and our nation's recognition of the contributions of African-Americans, Community Bank takes this time to celebrate the contributions of African-Americans to our nation's military.
This year we feature portraits of some lesser known figures in our banking center displays. Here's who they are:
- [bottom right in poster] Sgt. William Butler of Salisbury, MD. Received the Croix de Guerre from the French Government and Distinguished Service Cross and Sharpshooter's Medal from the U.S. Government
- [bottom left in poster] Chaplain F.C. Shirley, Camp Mead
- [top] Lieut. Thomas A. Painter of the 369th Infantry, who received the Croix de Guerre for gallantry in action
