How is my Check Card different from an ATM card?
A standard ATM card allows you to access ATMs and make purchases (using your PIN) anywhere you see a network logo displayed that matches a logo on the back of your card.
Your Community Bank Check Card does everything an ATM card can do and more. It is accepted at all Community Bank ATM locations; any ATM that displays a network logo that matches a logo on the back of your card; and you can also use it to purchase goods and services everywhere that Visa debit cards are accepted. If you have a Check Card, there is no need to carry your ATM Card.

Please call us immediately at 1-800-239-9427 or DSN# (510) 226-2265 and select Option 6 from the Main Menu and Option 1 from the sub-menu. Your call will be transferred to our Lost and Stolen Department.

Your option may differ depending on the merchant. Some merchants may require a signature (such as many restaurants), while others may offer you the option of “Credit” or “Debit/ATM” when processing your purchase. Normally, if you select “Credit”, you will sign a receipt to authorize the purchase. If you select “Debit/ATM”, you will use your PIN.
Whether you select “Credit” or “Debit/ATM”, the purchase amount will be deducted from your Community Bank checking account. Generally, there is no transaction fee for either type of transaction. (Merchants may charge a fee.)
Can I use my Check Card to make purchases from telephone order catalogs?
Yes. If the catalog company or the online merchant accepts Visa debit cards, you can use a Visa Check Card to make the purchase.
When I use my Check Card, am I borrowing money from a revolving line of credit? Please explain.
No. Check Card purchases are deducted from funds available in your checking account. However, if your checking account is linked to a Line of Credit and you activate the overdraft line by exceeding the funds available in your account, the standard rules apply to the amount borrowed.
