Medical Checklist
Here’s a list of medical and health insurance needs that should be attended to before deployment.
- Verify Your Enrollment in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). It’s your responsibility to verify DEERS enrollment for your family members prior to deployment. This will ensure that family members can receive medical care while you are deployed. To confirm enrollment contact DEERS at 1-800-538-9552.
- Verify Your TRICARE Eligibility, by going online to www.tricare.mil/.
- Get a Dental Examination. Minimize the chance of dental problems during deployment by having a complete examination before deployment. Don’t wait and hope a problem won’t get worse before coming home. Have any recommended procedures performed before deployment. For more information visit www.tricare.mil/.
